Regardless of the season, the facial sunscreen always receives priority, meaning we shouldn’t only use sunscreen during the summer. Sun protection made with mineral pigments, physical sunscreen creams are perfect alternatives to chemical sunscreens, since it not only protects skin, but it is also gentle on skin. The key question: how do you apply these mineral pigment containing sunscreen properly? Using your fingertips gently spread the cream, using tapping motions onto the surface of skin to be treated.

It is recommended to also protect skin that is accustomed to the sun

for darker coloured skin tones that are accustomed to the sun, darker skin
tones (S) option is available for each type of our sunscreens. The darker tone
is for normal skin tones, who are used to the sun, while the lighter colour is
best for babies and for snow white coloured skin. The snow white coloured
adults and babies should definitely use the 50+ sunscreen for the first 5-7 days
of sunbathing certified organic quality (Sea buckthorn Sunscreen- SPF 50)!
BIOLA organic cosmetic sunscreens aren’t made with nano sized mineral sun protecting pigments. Our sunscreens are coloured creams, its colour is from the beetroot, black raspberry, blackberry, other plant materials and iron oxide that are permitted to be used in cosmetics. Our Sunscreen creams offer full (UV-A and UV-B) skin protection when used as intended, this is why we can safely enjoy the sunshine!
Wise
advice: if the UV index is higher than ( > 5 ), stay one third of the time
in the sun than the time the SPF value recommends on the sunscreen.
The dark
side of chemical sunscreens
Our product
developer team would like to call to your attention, that it is recommended to
avoid the use of chemical sunscreens by children and sensitive skinned adults,
and to wait minimum 10 minutes after applying sunscreen onto skin to have
enough time for it to absorb into skin to be able to protect skin properly. The
chemical sunscreen molecules „break” due to the sun’s effect and turn into
large energy free radicals which „drain” the skin’s antioxidant capacities; thus,
the so-called skin aging process speeds up. Many studies deal with chemical
sunscreen reaching the bloodstream and the practically unpredictable health
risks.
Natural,
physical sun protection’s proper use
Let’s see,
how we can fit BIOLA sunscreen use into our daily facial skin care routine!
First step is to thoroughly cleanse your face with a skin friendly cleanser, then
if you don’t want to use a face cream, leave your skin slightly damp. The
dosage is very important. A tiny, approximately pea sized amount of cream needs
to be thoroughly spread on your finger tips. You will be surprised, how little
is needed to be used of the organic sunscreen on face and neck. Always start
with a small amount, then gradually add to it if necessary.
Warning!
The most important part of using mineral pigment containing creams and
sunscreen during usage is the application. Carefully spread the cream onto skin
using „tapping/patting” motions.
So
never spread organic sunscreen onto skin like other face creams, rather use
tiny „tapping”, „patting” motions to disperse on the skin area intended to be
protected.
Don’t forget,
to thoroughly apply and „pat” the nose, forehead and chin areas with 2,5-3 ml quantity
of sunscreen intended for face area. If necessary, don’t forget to reapply the
sunscreen every 2-3 hours, especially if near waterside or in case of sweating,
or if you spend a lot of time in the sun without taking breaks. Never apply
sunscreen onto dry skin but rather always apply it onto slightly damp skin or face
with skin cream on it.
